Atlantic Puffin

Barn Owl

This sculpture was a commissioned “prey” piece. The Barn Owl is carved of Tupelo and painted with acrylics on a base of reclaimed California Redwoods. The carving is 17” high.

Bat Falcon

The sculpture was inspired by a Floyd Scholz seminar. It is carved of Tupelo and painted with acrylics, on a maple burl base.   The sculpture is 19 ½” high.  It is available for purchase.

Male Kestrel 

The bird is carved out of Tupelo wood while the reed, which is made of titanium and is grounded in a piece of green granite, is flexible enough for the bird to move in the slightest breeze.  All paints are acrylic. It is not available for purchase.

Peregrine Falcon 

This sculpture is 18” high.  The Peregrine is carved from Tupelo and mounted on a piece of driftwood shaped to look like a dead tree branch and painted with acrylics. It is not available for purchase.

Eastern Screech Owl

For centuries, mankind has associated owls with knowledge and wiseness. It seemed appropriate to perch this little girl on a book. The owl is carved of Tupelo, the book is made of pine, and the base is burled maple.  Acrylics were used for all of the painting.  It is available for purchase.

Ruby-throated Hummingbird

The bird and flowers are carved from Tupelo, the flower and leaf stems are brass tubing, the leaves are all thin brass shim, and the base is oak.  Sculpture height was 16”. It is not available for purchase.

Osprey

This sculpture was inspired by a Floyd Scholz seminar. It is carved of Tupelo and painted with acrylics on a base of pine posts. The sculpture is 28” high.  It is available for purchase.

Ovenbird

This sculpture was a commissioned piece that won first place in the Intermediate Songbirds A Category at the 2016 Ward World Championship competition in Ocean City, Maryland. The Ovenbird is carved of Tupelo with acrylic paint on a maple base. The carving is 7” high. It is NOT available for purchase.

Snowy Owl

Since this is a northern tier owl, I built her habitat to include a proportional fence post with barbed wire perch and a lemming peeking out from its tunnel.  The owl is carved out of tupelo, the post is cedar, and the wire is as previously mentioned.  Acrylic paints were used. It is not available for purchase.

Bald Eagle

The Bald Eagle sculpture is approximately 1/3 scale of a northern-tier bird.  The body is approximately 11” long.  The bird was carved out of Tupelo, the branch/mount is recovered driftwood from the Potomac River in Maryland, and the base is turned maple. It is not available.
